2024-11-01 | Edward Balboa | Designed by dumb + dumber ?? Aside from the fact it is ridiculously SLOW , and crashes almost everytime .... .....well ,. They placed the ' player view ' button , right next to the ' power on/off ' button........ ..super easy to accidentally hit the power button ... And there is lots of unused screen space to put them well apart .......so just brainless design
2024-08-29 | Tim | This app is awful. But you can stop the Pandora Stations from randomly scrolling if you open the interface on your TV monitor and select a station from there. Then the stations will populate on the app and allow you to change the station from your phone. Makes no sense, and it will likely screw up again later on, but this will temper the rage for a bit.
2024-08-07 | Carlos Roland | I wish it worked better. It's the "glitchiest" app I've ever used. The upside is that it basically sollects no personal data to store or share with and by Denon, so that's a positive. But maybe that's why it hardle works. It's like a low IQ app, if there's such a thing. It forgets the device, the device settings, and everythign practically everytime you use it. Dumb, but not dangerous, I guess that's a worthwhile tradeoff.
2024-01-07 | Casey Clausen | The app won't connect with my AVR-X4000. Instead, I just pull up the IP address in a browser window and can control it there. I've tried some of the generic remote apps and they're pretty bad but can at least connect with the receiver. Shouldn't be a networking issue. I have my PC playing to the receiver and can access the IP address on the network. Just seems like Denon's own app can't get it done.
2023-08-27 | Jon Ellsworth | I love Denon receivers, with the 3313CI, being my 3-4th. Their remote app is not up to their standard and technology. I bought this wireless receiver so I can control it in my backyard but it just stops randomly even with a strong WiFi signal, very sensitive and not user friendly. Many times I have to close and restart to get it to work or change Pandora stations. Receiver is older but it's been this way from the beginning where Denon should have made upgrades and updates. Denon please upgrade!
2023-06-04 | Paul Lefebvre | Update: More times than not it doesn't work. Previous : when it worked it was great, but is now too much trouble to use. It forgets it's network settings after every usage. Not worth the trouble. Easier to use Bluetooth and leave phone at a short distance to receiver. Original: Its fantastic for controlling zone 2 while sitting outside by the fire pit. Its also more convenient inside as I always have my phone or tablet handy.
2022-09-11 | Joe Carroll | Better than nothing/"Good enough". Seems to pretty much be abandoned at this point, but a lot of people are still using the receivers this is compatible with, so they really should keep updating and refining it. I can't be too mad because I bought my receiver used, but it's far from obsolete, so if I had paid top dollar for it only to be abandoned while the receiver is still useful, I'd be really p*ssed off and would consider different brands for future purchases. You can def tell its an old app
2022-06-30 | Brian C | I bought my first Denon receiver about 12 years ago. I remember the app back then was so poorly developed and maintained that I deleted and haven't used it since. That old receiver recently broke down, so I replaced it with a brand new Denon X2700h. Absolutely nothing has changed with the mobile app. It still operates like garbage. It pains me to say this because the receiver itself is fantastic! It's just a nightmare to get the receiver completely setup, and none of the included apps work well.
2022-06-14 | Eric Dannemiller | It says this app is compatible with my receiver Denon AVR-X2000 but I don't see any where I can program it for it. This app is not to user friendly. I can't even do a basic setup for my receiver. How? I see the app makers don't ever respond to other reviewers to help them out in any way. Not good. Well sense then for two years i figured out how to work the Denon app, it worked just fine as it should work, & up untill recently the remote functions have all disappeared, the Denon app is dead. Why?
2022-03-20 | Dmitry | I've had 4 Denon receivers in my house since 2010, ranging from entry level to $3k+ receivers. This app is the final straw in me changing out all of my receivers in the house. It's a joke! It simply does not work, it has a mind of it's own when to connect and when to go into demo mode. What a shame that Denon thinks apps are unnecessary and does not provide support or updates. Everything has an app now! Hope something changes in the future in the mean time, I've given up and so have many others. |
