2024-11-29 | Jeremy | Used this app years ago and it was junk. Reinstalled now in 2024 and still junk. I cannot believe a company that is supposed to be hi end like marantz has an app that is complete junk. I'm in the market for a new receiver and I'm going to try a different company this time. I use apps for almost everything in my home, no different here, if marantz can't figure this out I'll give another company a shot on my new receiver.
2024-09-19 | Tracy Reed | Absolute garbage! I am very disappointed in this app and the Marantz NR1710 receiver Heos software. Streaming from Amazon music rarely works and this app seems to rarely work on the phone. Bluetooth streaming also does not work half the time. I will have to add another $89 Wiim streaming device to this receiver which works flawlessly.
2024-07-22 | Chad Porter | apparently this app has been bad for a long time. I finally got my Marantz 8015 and it basically does nothing! it constantly crashes. it takes 10 seconds or more to load if it even loads. I have a brand new phone and excellent internet so it's not that. the reviews say it all. how disappointing. at least I can do everything I need to do with the remote but I thought maybe they would have a good app to go along with it. obviously they don't care
2024-06-26 | Alan B | Works great with my NR1711. Marantz is Japanese HiFi hardware, so don't expect the app to be a work of software art. It does let you do what you need to do, and that's all. Also, to the guy who edits the same negative review every 6 months or so: the whole point of Pure Direct is to turn off all unnecessary electronics when listening to hi res audio. That is why you don't get a signal to a TV when you engage Pure Direct, and this is by design.
2024-04-27 | Johnny Gibbons | I think it would be a really important feature to be able to turn off the volume control on my phone for the music playing through the AVR. A couple times I've accidentally hit the button to turn the volume up and once I turned the volume as high as it could go accidentally and I feel lucky that my speakers didn't blow because it was extremely loud.
2023-12-15 | Sonny Cruz | Useful but slow. I use it with an NR1506 and its perfect remotely powering down the recycling, while at home of course. I use it to adjust the volume frequently as well. Other than that, it's so slow I avoid other functions but they all do work. Sometimes the app hangs. It can be frustrating but the convenience of being able to check the receiver's power on status makes it worth keeping on my phone (S23 Ultra).
2022-09-22 | michael shafer | Mediocre at best and very sluggish operation, feature control is nice but that's where the good ends. Every new tab selected results is 5-10 seconds of loading. It's not for the lack of device either cause I have a galaxy s21 ultra also, My receiver will not connect Bluetooth if the app is open, I have to close it everytime to connect. The yamaha app is far beyond this one with smooth functionality and Bluetooth connected instantly with no issue but less control of some features.
2022-03-04 | 516- Andrew | Using this app on a hand me down unit with no remote. Connects on net wire, but says to unplug to configure wireless. Can't control configuration using this app when its unplugged, though... should connect using the Bluetooth receiver maybe, to finish configure? Did allow me to update firmware (I could move the cursor with this. Yay!) It's clunky. But once you get used to the functionality, it seems to work. Just wish I could do the wireless... have a roku in cbl/sat, Dolby stereo. Works.
2021-08-30 | Jon Armstrong | Slow and buggy. Quits frequently. Not intuitive. Finds my SR7010 and crashes less than the other Marantz apps. Do I even have the right app installed? There are so many, they all seem old, out dated, and buggy. It updated. It's worse now. Get errors while sending error reports. Wants me to download Heos app... Which only supports the Heos line of products. I'll never buy another Marantz product again. You probably shouldn't either.
2021-05-28 | Matt S | I have the sr5011, and a Samsung S9+ that I keep updated. Came here to give this app a rating after using it for the last year or two. It's not my primary remote but I consistently open the app to switch inputs, handle volume, etc... if I don't want to get up. I'm amazed I've never had any problems with it considering the reviews! Almost never even tried it because of the reviews, I like rooting for the underdog, lol. |
