2024-11-14 | Frank B | Like many others. It worked when I first installed it. 2 months later, the app opens and says it is loading, but it never does. It will do this for as long as I leave it running. What a POC. Edit the reason I could not connect to the receiver was because I included it in the device isolation in my router. Now I have to figure out what is blocked with that setting that keeps it from working.. I like to keep my network protected.
2024-10-24 | Peter Young | This app is incredibly slow and constantly drains my phones battery running on the background. It will easily eat up 30% or more if I forget to force stop it. No other app even comes close to that amount of battery drain. The Yamaha app works great. If a good app is important to anyone heavily consider Yamaha their app was fantastic.
2024-10-02 | James White | It just works? After reading a lot of recent negative reviews I was prepared for the worst. After using the receiver (x2800) and the Denon and Heos apps for two weeks now, it just works as well as my car system for syncing to what I was listening to on Bluetooth and playing it. Pixel 8 and mostly YouTube music. I haven't gotten into any deeper fine tuning yet, but the fact it largely just works with the basic inputs and outputs I have it set up with is nice.
2024-09-15 | Vikram S | I have a Denon X2700. The app experience has been terrible. The HEOS integration stopped working. Now, if I use HEOS to play music Denon is still off and AVR app does not work as expected. Apart from this problem, there are problems with inputs switching to different sources automatically that is confusing.
2024-08-24 | Mesa Man | Inconsistent performance The app in general is EXTREMELY slow to load and respond to commands. We installed a new router and can no longer connect to the AVR at all and I cannot access set up to enter the new ID & password. Update......8/24/24 The connectivity issues were resolved. Performance is improved as we added substantial bandwidth with an upgraded ISP. HEOS update helped as well. Upgraded review score to reflect the overall improvements
2024-07-23 | pope 410211 (pope410211) | That app is super helpful for my Denon and I am so far very happy with it! I am rating 4-stars for two main reasons: 1. I wish the built in help '?' Button was more of a learn more. Honestly, if the help button was updated or if they added a learn more button and some other improvements in the app, I'd ignore the price and rate 5-stars. 2: The price is a bit steep.
2024-07-13 | Kama Bazi | Not Good. It was buggy from get go but after update earlier this year it does not find my Denon AVR. Tried all troubleshooting i can rhink off but no go. I was able to confirm the last update is the ine that made it completely useless because I have the same app on another device but I have not updated it yet and it still connects without issue. Denon, you need to fix it, otherwise many people like me are going to switch AVR because of this poor app.
2024-07-05 | Bob Mertz (bobkmertz) | Works but annoying and persistent. I don't understand why the app needs to run on the background constantly in order to control a device. I should be able to open the app, press buttons, close the app, and it all goes away instead of taking up resources on my phone and space in my task bar. Besides all of that this may have one of the worst interfaces I've ever seen.
2024-05-21 | S B (SB) | Really sucks!! Like everyone else, I wish I could say 0 stars. App only works 10 percent of the time. I thought it would be amazing to have something that would be able to control my sound system on my phone. However, this proves to be trash and a waste of space on my phone. It buffers constantly upon opening, and when it finally does get past the buffering, it takes forever to load and read my system. I guess it works just as well as the denon sound system. Trash basically!!!
2022-03-31 | Rove McClain | Please add better optimizations for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It would be really nice if you guys could update the design language of the app. The app definitely looks like an app from 2016 and it's stuck in 2016. It needs to look like a 2021 app. You guys haven't updated the UI design in YEARS. It's very stale and doesn't fit any new device's design language. It's unacceptable. |
