Solid implementation of the board game with some weaknesses - 1 being significant. Unless you have the cards memorized, it's almost impossible to play on a phone, as the print is tiny and there is no way to pinch zoom. Also no option to play in "friendly" mode. Wasted my money - I'll probably uninstall and play it on BGA instead.

This is the first time I've ever disliked a digital board game entirely because of the board game itself, and not the (great) app. So many things seem like bad design choices. The opening move is always a rush to sell a field because you never need all 3, but you do need extra money. So why not give everyone 2 fields and more money to start with, and avoid a redundant opening? Why are so many mechanics centred around making wine when its an inefficient move that even the AI avoids? I could go on

Why 4 stars? I have it ALL on Android, Steam, Both Essential board game, and WILL BUY Expansion both in Steam & Android. But Why? Because the letters in the cards are TOO SMALL even after I zoom it. And it's missing SOLO mode! Automa Factory = Stonemeier's pal. Wingspan has it. But Why not Viticulture? My Wish: It needs EACH visitors cards and structures card (Tuscany) explanation how it works on each scenario that may happen. Graphic alone may give different understanding.

Overall it's a pretty good port of the board game. Bots put up a decent fight. A few critiques though: * The tutorial does not teach you everything. But you'll figure it all out during your first game if you try * The UI can take some getting used to. At first it's kinda hard to know what's going on, but again after your first game you'll figure it out * I would love to see more customization in order to boost replayability. For example: make the number of victory points to win configurable

I bought the board game and was a bit overwhelmed as to how to set it up and play. The instruction booklet is 19 pages, so I decided to buy this to help me learn the game. Its fantastic , it's exactly like the real game and it made playing the board game so easly. I play this daily as it so much fun . The fact you can play in online matches to and the wonderful soundtrack just adds to the wine making process.

OK, updated my review after a week playing. I still think the tutorial needs work but now that I understand the interface I'm enjoying the app as much as the physical game. My only gripe now is that it doesn't seem to record my plays and joining a queue for either fast or regular online play nothing seems to happen despite there being players available in chat.

Not good if you haven't played the board game before. Poor interface with no icon descriptions or direction requires you to be VERY familiar with game setup and play otherwise you'll be lost from the start. Lack of assisted play-through tutorial means you'll always be seeking reference for where to click and what to do next. Bringing up the menu for help will end your game and bring you back to the title screen without a clear way to go back to your game. Massive improvements needed. Ouch.

UI is a bit clunky in comparison to something like Terraforming Mars which is a joy to play. I think with some tweaks to be more user friendly it could be similarly good! Also just think the art could be tweaked to look a little nicer. The boardgame is good but the execution isn't quite there. Had a bug where I had chosen to build then came back to my game and it was stuck, would have given 3* for this but I'm sure it'll get patched.

The app seems to be less well designed than one would expect. When choosing initial player options there is no text to highlight what each item gives you in exchange for turn order. When it won't let you do something, like planting vineyards you are left wandering if you are making a mistake or whether you have discovered a bug in the game. It's not at all clear or very friendly to a newbie to the game.

Really like it! Have even won a few times now, ha. I like that it's hard to win, it should be -- I'm in it to play. My only problem is that sometimes when I'm trying to start a new Local game, I'll be pulling an AI player over into one of the open slots, and the "Login (sic) with Google Play" screen pops up and has no place for me to click, or to do anything. It just gets stuck there -- even after I can see the little Google Play pop-up recognizing my username -- and I have to hit my Back button and leave the game entirely, as there's nothing else I can do. Would love it if you could fix that.
