2024-11-09 | Kairos Jackson | Be careful of the price. I was told I got 65% off a year subscription. They gave me $20 off... not even 50% off the price (69.99). HoweverI'm not even sure if that's the price because it changes constantly. They tell you the year is $60 then it's $80 it's $90. It could be really useful but I would stay away because they are going to try to scam you
2024-10-12 | Old Joy | Gave me a free trial until October 12th. Charged me 77$ for a years subscription on October 11th. Could it be a mistake? Maybe. Still leaves a sour taste, especially given how little is offered for that price. Cliffsnotes of books and ideas, likely compiled by AI that in many cases don't explain the heart of the idea. I can see how this could be useful for some, and it's certainly better than social media, though not by much. The shady trial policy and charging before expiration date is no bueno
2024-09-30 | Letty Housley | I really enjoyed the app, it has many benefits such as preventing doom scrolling by providing actual information that can help you. Their are it's limitations however, such as the incapability to save ideas or move them to watch later unless you get the premium feature which isn't that great a deal if it's giving you access to things that should've been free. I've also noticed a constant use of AI art. Honestly, having it be shown so much doesn't look that great. Use real art PLEASE!
2024-09-23 | Genevra Rose | Should make the back button function in this app. Also feels sluggish and Laggy if you open a few ideas, probably because they're opening on top of each other each time you scroll down and click a recommended idea. It's an okay idea but they're very pushy for a pro subscription. Mildly helpful, but not for the price they want. Meh. They also added a timer for non pro users that didn't use to be there. In the process of enshittification it seems.
2024-09-09 | Ruby C | Wish I could use this app, but it won't load in at all Edit: Since I was informed that it was a technical issue, it has been working a lot better. This app is not for me personally, however I can see how this app would be extremely useful to people who are looking to replace doomscrolling with a more productive activity. It does a very good job summarizing the key components to books that may interest you, all the while keeping it in a similar format to more addictive social apps. Good job.
2024-09-05 | Charlie Grant | The app would be great if it didn't push the premium option so hard. Didn't make it past the set up phase before they tried to force me into a predatory trial. I had to figure out a way out of the screen then was given an inescapable screen forcing me into it. There may have been an option to force close to skip it but I just deleted. DO NOT force me into your premium before I've even experienced the service. I will not use this service ever again. Me ght have wanted premium but will never know.
2024-09-02 | Mike Villarreal | Basically just a web content aggregator. That's fine, and the reading suggestions were pretty good. Functionality is very limited on the free version, but I didn't find it useful enough to be willing to pay for it. My primary complaint is the spam that comes along with signing up for an account. 1-2 emails per day, every day, asking you to sign up for the premium version. I attempted to unsubscribe once, and continued receiving emails. So now they are routed to my spam folder.
2024-08-26 | Kyle Ditzig | A great idea, but the range of content was a bit narrower than I'd like. Also wasn't a fan of the constant ads, as they defeat the purpose of short, focused reading sessions. The monetization in general I found intrusive and off-putting, which was the reason I ended up uninstalling the app. As a rule I don't give consent to purchases for free trials, as I have ADHD and will likely forget to unsubscribe if I don't use the service, and I find such techniques underhanded and predatory.
2024-08-13 | Jared Vogel | It's fine. It's definitely less infuriating/depressing than mindlessly scrolling on certain social media apps. However, most of what I've seen over the past week has just been some guy's bullet point notes on a random website he read, and of course, anyone can write anything on the Internet. Have I learned anything? Not really, but maybe that's for the best since there's no real way of knowing if any of the ideas I read are from credible sources.
2024-07-15 | Tad Foster | Way too aggressive about pushing its premium membership BEFORE I'VE EVEN TRIED OUT THE APP. Like as soon as you boot the app for the first time it's spamming you about "limited chance deals" on the yearly membership and I haven't even experienced the app yet or know what it does. Whenever you click to decline to subscribe it comes back with a cheaper offer. |
