2024-12-10 | Aroc | A lot of awesome biblical resources, especially with the plus subscription! However, the app suffers some functionality issues. I'm on the Z Fold6 and the app doesn't rotate at all, full open or not, and the app apparently doesn't support multi-window viewing. Pretty sad deal considering the amount of resources available to the developers. Edit: continued trying to use it and is unusable on a smartphone in the way I need it to be. I regret paying for a subscription.
2024-12-08 | Stardancer | EDIT: Great support team! They resolved my problem quickly and clearly. Thanks guys! <<< Love the app! Mainly use it for listening since it's the only app with an audio Bible for NKJV. Also enjoy the access to Matthew Henry Commentaries. 2 things I'd change: 1. Allow setting to only listen to 1 chapter/book instead of auto playing, or even select separate books/chapters to listen to. 2. Add Daily Verse widget! Wish I didn't have to use another app for that.
2024-11-17 | Jessica Boniface | The ads have taken over. I initially learned that they had added ads during a church service when trying to look up a verse and an ad started up at top volume. After quickly muting it, the ad had an X in the upper corner. I tried to click it, but, instead of closing the ad, it took me to the advertizer's website. I now know to mute the phone before trying to use this app and to just plan on waiting 30-60 seconds for the ad to cycle through to the point where you can really close it.
2024-11-16 | Bill Hooper | The ads are now intrusive and too many of them. Also the resources selection was no longer working. It said "errored". I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it fixed this problem. I still use the app but it is not as good as it once was with all the ads. 05/06/24 Still errors out on the resources page. Uninstall and reinstall fixes but unacceptable all the time so I lowered rating to 1 stars. 08/02/24 resources selection still "errored". Still errors 10/14/24, 11/16/24
2024-11-12 | Stephen Kelly | Good Bibie reading app... it has a few more translations than the competition. BUT... loud, obnoxious ads pop up, making this totally inappropriate for use in church or other meeting settings. Many of these ads are not exactly for a Bible reading audience; you'd think the developers would be more choosy with who is advertising on the app.
2024-11-11 | Yolanda Allen | Like many other reviews, I enjoyed this app for years; however, the new ads are way too much. Every time I open this app in church to read the scripture, I have to wait for the full page ads to allow me to close them. Then, sometimes when I try to close them it takes me directly to the Google store. I will be uninstalling this app and installing another...to many distractions.
2024-11-09 | Emily Dotson | I have really enjoyed using this app up until recently when they added advertisements. They are very LOUD and when I am trying to follow along (especially in church service) and the ads like this pop up it is so disruptive that I end up closing out of the app. The ads also last a very long time and provide fake 'x' buttons that actually take you to the advertisers sites instead of closing out the window. I'm pretty disappointed with the experience after so many years of enjoying the app.
2024-11-08 | Sunny W | The ADs got outta hand. The ads across the bottom of the screen were OK, but they added a full-sized add that was too much. If I just wanted to quickly read their verse of the day I'd open the app, but as soon as the verse was visible, swipe home then back to close & then see the same screen in the recent apps list. Then I could read today's verse w/o ads. No getting around it if you want to use the app more in depth tho. Time for a new Bible app.
2024-10-31 | Tim Elam | Intrusive ads with tiny, hard-to-hit close buttons make accidental ad openings far too common. Complaints are met with, "Advertising lets us make Bibles freely available," plus an upsell to a subscription "which removes most ads." If they’re serious about spreading the Word, they should offer a better user experience. This app feels more like a cash grab than a ministry tool. Very disappointing. For a better experience, try the Blue Letter Bible - great study tools and no ads!
2024-10-30 | Whitney Barnes | I've had this app for a while and really loved the multiple versions and how easy it was to use. Recently whenever I open the Bible section to read a big full screen ad plays that I can't skip. This is very distracting and frustrating when I am trying to have a quiet reading time or use it in church. If these ads were gotten rid of though it would be five stars because I really enjoy everything else about the app. |
