2024-10-19 | Joseph | This app has been a lifesaver while learning medicine. Histology is more accessible! I can see erythema more effectively! It also gives me much more accurate information about the specific color and filters more accurately than my Vino glasses (although those still gives me erythema finding superpowers)
2024-10-13 | Michael Novak | Honestly, meh, but it's the only app of its kind I have found. To the person who complained of many colors being called 'dull orange' or 'dull brown', yes it does that. You can however click on advanced and then at least get the RGB values. I still wish it could identify colors in other apps or at least screenshots, not just with the live camera.
2024-09-06 | Meaw Kitty | I hope no color blind person falls for this severely inaccurate app. Black, gray, and white are all "dull brown", while most other colors are "dull orange".
2024-09-06 | Arlin Sandbulte | Great app, but needs some usability improvements. 1. Add ability to zoom into frozen camera snapshot. 2. On frozen snapshot, offset the cross-hair target with the finger touch-piont. This would let me see where the cross-hair target is really aiming. Right now, with the cross-hair target under my finger, i cannot see where the target is actually sampling from.
2024-03-09 | Hillary Jeffrey | This is an app that I've used for a couple of years for accessibility, especially with my art. It's pretty neat because it's designed both for colorblind people as well as people who are trying to simulate different expressions of color blindness. I've found it really helpful.
2022-02-07 | Carrie Piazza | I'm colorblind and work in IT. I needed something to help me differentiate between different colored wires. This app is so helpful. The color detection is not perfect, but that is largely due to technical limitations and the camera. Remember "The Dress" viral phenomenon? Anyway, great app. To the author: Thanks for making it.
2021-10-12 | Barry Kramer (Equipment Recyclers) | Very good! Finding out the correct color with the camera works perfectly. I would like to be able to determine colors from pics on file, from a screenshot, or from the browser. Its a shame the developer has not updated since Mar-2017.
2021-07-03 | Neal McBurnett | This is fabulous for a color blind user like me! It makes it easy to identify basic colors, but also possible to highlight colors you're interested in in cool ways. Some advanced features are tricky to understand, but worth it! For those pointing out that the color names aren't always intuitive, note that color perception is an incredibly complex topic, and our eyes and brains are always adjusting to the surroundings with our own notion of white balance, which an app can't possibly reproduce.
2021-01-13 | Jd Boone | I am color blind, red green, but it tried telling me that this green lid was actually a teal color which it most certainly was not so as far as locating and sensing color, not very efficient. But I found the color filter to be pretty cool, it could definitely be useful out in the field.
2020-11-28 | James Coffman | Thank you so much for this utility. As someone with Deuteranomaly, I always struggle with knowing if my device is charged or charging. It is a small thing, but with LEDs everywhere now, most default to RGB, which makes it hard for me to parce and this tool makes it simple to perceive colors without having to see them. |
