2024-11-05 | BRIAN GEARS16 | I've been using this app for a long while and have even decided to pay just 1 dollar for it every month. However, it just feels like pages aren't loading fast at all it's been getting slower having to constantly refresh the page. If, realistically, most of these problems were to be fixed, i wouldn't mind retracting my review and giving it a better score. In the meantime, I have to give it the review I have because plain old google or currently opera gx just work fine loading pages faster.
2023-10-21 | Music Rules | Wow. Shocked to see this now requires a subscription to use. (Developers: Before you even respond about people pirating stuff, I don't care. People will find ways to do that. Also, it's not my issue since I don't have pirated things on my device and never will.) Kiwi browser is awesome, it supports Chrome extensions. I will be looking at other browsers as well. This is a rip-off.
2023-09-03 | Draxinn “Drax” Markov | I've been using puffin for a few years now, never mind the ads or the 2-hour usage limit. I wouldn't mind a single-time fee of $10 to $15 for a premium version from Google, but I won't put my personal card information directly into the app for a recurring charge. If you release a premium version for sale here I would gladly buy, but sadly I'm sure this app will die soon. Worked perfectly before you pushed too hard for subscriptions. EDIT: I've only ever installed the legit version. Cry harder.
2023-05-30 | Bethany Folsom The wolf | I used to use this app for flash games, but now it's unusable. The ads were annoying, and I was able to deal with them, but the daily limit made it stressful and made me rush through the games, trying to finish before it cuts me off. And now I can't even use it without needing a subscription, which I can't bring myself to buy, given my family's income.
2023-05-02 | Jamie Clark | I had Puffin on mobile, and I enjoyed using it, especially after flash was disabled. Unfortunately, this came with Puffin requiring either a paid subscription for unlimited use, or a single hour in the day with an ad. If it was 1 hr per ad with no limit, I would've happily watched as many ads as necessary. I don't use Puffin enough to warrant a subscription, but when I do use, it's more than one single hour. There is no in between option or plan, and that's why I uninstalled.
2023-02-27 | Noel Fallstrom | In a land of free browsers, there is still a niche market for flash support. However, the pricing model ruins this app. I understand ads on free software, but I usually pay to remove them when that is the option. Unfortunately for Puffin, you can't use this app for more than an hour with ads and you can't pay to remove them without a subscription. I'd be happy to pay a one time fee of 2-5 dollars. There is no way I am paying $2 a month when a free desktop browser works 10 times better.
2021-10-25 | The Jucktion | it feels really fast but the data compression isn't doing anything as it does eat up a lot more data than it claims to save. I would buy the pro if it had adblock, dark theme, simple hover capability and ability to choose flash video player. as I don't see much of a difference in proexcept cloud download which I never use
2021-08-12 | off | It used to be so good, until they overloaded it with ads and set a timer for how long they would let you use it for the day. If you want to drop money on a browser, then this is the one. But if you are sane, go somewhere else, even if this is the only good flash browser. It's just not worth it for the amount of ads. WHAT BROWSER HAS AN AD BAR AT THE BOTTOM??? Edit to respond to the reply: Yes, but why? No other has ads, and if you have the ads, why the time limit? There's no reason for it.
2020-12-24 | Jonathan McKnight | Use to be a mediocre browser, had stability issues but it was pretty fast. The only thing that made it worth having was that it was flash enabled. Now it's gotten worse, slower, less stable, flash is semi sketchy, and devs have gotten greedy. Throttling, interrupting, and eventually cutting you off if you don't pay their subscription. What you offer wouldn't be a very good deal even if the service didn't suck. Deleting, I'll find another workaround for flash.
2020-12-23 | stan morris | I've been using Puffin for awhile and like it very much. However, after the latest update, it will now not allow me to open the app without allowing it to use my location. That is unacceptable. If this isn't changed soon, I will discontinue using the app and cancel my subscription. EDIT: The new monetization of this app makes it pretty much unusable. Specifically, the random popup that forces you to watch an ad in the middle of whatever you happen to be doing is just terrible. Uninstalling. |
