2021-08-31 | The Tim Doyle | UPDATE: AND WE'RE DOING IT AGAIN! This is amazing. There's glitchy things, and there's issues, but it's art. From hanging out with strangers to wandering around looking at art, this is the closest I've been to home this year.
2021-01-01 | Armin Obersteiner | The Temple and some art were very nice. Sadly there was no real BM feeling - either I was alone or no one was talking back... for scheduled events it seems to work. Luckily AltspaceVR/BRCvr released a Mac client to have some real BM vibes for free... or of course in 3D on the Oculus Quest. I add a positive notion and a star: it is constantly updated so in the end it was worth the donation.
2020-09-09 | Jason Horn | Update: amount refunded, thanks for addressing my concerns. You should still include info on where the $ is going. I added 2 stars. Thanks burn on! App charging a minimum of 7.99 and is not clearly notifying user of the in-app cost and what it's going towards. It seems like a clear violation of Burningman tenents. And Google appstore policy. As well as after paying and actually entering the app it's not working with no recourse for refund. Long times burner very disappointed.
2020-09-07 | Maria de Jesus Gutierrez | Have to enter birth DATE to set up account, but can only do that via a calendar, set to today's date, that will only go back one month at a time. SERIOUSLY? If I was a ten year old, I'd have to swipe back 120 times, and I have to be over 18 to use the app. WHO DOES THIS? I'm going on two hours trying to set up my account, because the page randomly goes back to today's date. Who doesn't add the << year swipe button? I'm taking a break because my fingers legit hurt FROM SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT.
2020-09-06 | Carrie Warlaumont | Almost unusable on Android. I have to practically hold my phone above my head to see anything. I also keep getting notifications that my app needs updating but there's no update option. I would Uninstall and start over, but am unwilling to have to pay again when the first version hasn't worked well. I see the potential and appreciate the efforts put into this. It just hasn't worked for me.
2020-09-05 | Ian Faragher | Awful app, awful support, awful shame! Tried to use earlier and couldn't get past paywall despite them claiming it's free today as well as them claiming to offer "sponsorships" (that they automatically sign you up for, sponsoring 10 people!), yet nowhere in the app or on their website do they mention how to apply for or obtain said sponsorships. I've downloaded this 1GB+ 3 times now, and it was a waste of my time each time. Also, others have paid and can't access the app. Total scam!
2020-09-05 | Bridget Hoadley (Fig) | I don't think people realise how much time (and skills) goes into building an app like this. Yes it's missing some fancy UI/UX elements, and yes, there's a few bugs – but what a feat to create something so huge in such a short time – simply incredible! Thank you to everyone who built us this virtual home. 🤯
2020-09-05 | Chase Martin | This app has clearly been developed by people who've never been to burning man before. The avatar system is seriously limited (Only two genders, with stereotypical fashion for both? Seriously???), and they've gone to almost no effort to actually recreate the playa. Center camp is just a bunch of random tents (completely inaccurate), and their models of big sound camps are horribly inaccurate. Just cancel the event if your virtual replacement is this bad!
2020-09-05 | Cmdr Pollux | Cool implementation of VR-like option for BM. Have seen people's characters dancing but haven't figured out how to make mine dance. For those new to VR - to look around, you have to physically move your device as though it is your eyes. Angle your device up to the sky to look up at the sky, etc. Maybe there should be some tips when you first log-on to help with viewing and moving.
2020-09-04 | Annabel Becker | A nice idea but poor execution, sadly. It's quite expensive, but then the app is jumpy and buggy and there doesn't seem to be much happening in it. The app is slow and crashes frequently. Hope the money goes to the BM cause in the end and not just to pay for this app... Now wishing I'd read the reviews before paying! |
