2024-10-30 | Péter Bagó | How to mute the sound of moves? Really loud during commute. Other than that great app for tactics.
2024-08-05 | Chojnacki Rafal | Very good tactics training, high quality exercises, that include also defensive moves, perpetual checks, and other calculation training plus endgame exercises. Opening training based on space repetition is also useful. Guess the game is OK, although I would like to have option to upload games. I like board themes and piece sets. Lack of offline mode.
2024-03-15 | Mikhail Brown | Overall a great app, I'd give it 5 stars if it didn't zip through lines SUPER fast and have me just play the last move of my opening. I'd like to always go through the manual process but if I'm dumb and that can be fixed in settings let me know.
2023-01-30 | Tim Wiley | So far I like it a lot. It was recommended to me by a friend. One problem I see so far is that the app ignores your phone volume settings. It doesn't matter if I have my phone (Samsung S22) on silent. I had to hunt through the internal settings in the app for the volume toggle to silence it.
2021-10-01 | Kevin Ghosty | The OG chess tactics website. For casual players, this app is really great for learning, especially on the blitz mode. Tried lichess puzzles for awhile, but chesstempo still wins for its system! And its quality puzzles that are pretty much the best online, almost forgot about that!
2021-08-27 | Tyrin Price | I reviewed, "Wish there was a way to turn off (or at least turn down) board sounds" and received a response showing me how to do just that. Thanks! Now, if only I could also see the date on the solving history page. :-) Upgraded review from 3 to 4 stars. EDIT: Hoping to see the day of the month on the solving history so I can more easily keep track of the number of puzzles I have solved each day.
2021-01-17 | Trevor B | Very difficult ui to navigate. From what I understand, the ui is geared for those who come from the desktop site and are familiar with it. However, I would definitely recommend some button labels at a minimum.
2020-12-22 | Dibya | The web version has soo much more functionality and options to customize what kind of problems you want to attempt. If you are a premium user always use the web version as the app is very limited to enjoy the full benefit of the premium membership. Kindly look into making the app as good as the web version as I got frustrated with the inability of the app to customize problem tactics which is a major reason why one upgrades to premium.
2020-12-10 | Major Bajor | I mainly use chesstempo for opening training and I love it, it really helped my chess and I have easily pushed 100-200 rating points since using it. Its great to build up an overall repertoire and also got short term preparation. Also, the admin is awesome, always answers to questions and feedback. Everyone I showed chesstempo to also really enjoys it. TL;DR best opening trainer you can get. It's the best way to get good at openings.
2020-12-09 | Sameer Al-jurf | I rate it 3 star becuase I truly care for this app to improve. I train on the website mostly, but I find navigating through the app very difficult relative to the website. But overall, the puzzles are great the engine is fabulous, opening trainer is wicked. Just have to fix the little things. I am ready to change the review anytime they improve it well |
