2024-07-12 | Henry Chow | New format, lots of bugs. Navigation, especially for e-edition unintuitive. Clicking on an article sometimes bring up the previous article. Text size setting does not between articles.
2024-06-27 | Michael Thompson | New app does not save login info...asked to log in every 2-3 articles. And many headlines are linked to a different story. Yet my subscription rate just went up...time will tell
2024-04-24 | Michael Edwards | Update - That was resolved with a reinstall. Not sure why that was necessary but it appears to work again. Well they fixed the bug below and the app worked great for a while, but now it won't load. Just a logo page never getting to a functional mode with content. Literally can't use the app at all. Loading individual article or any other phone activity takes you back to the front page regardless of where you were; maddening. The Apple version doesn't do that, it takes you to the page you were on
2024-01-07 | Tony Bement | Too slow to open, scrolling is terrible, jumping ahead or back unpredictably. Notification links either take a really long time to open, or don't open at all. I could go on, but won't.
2023-11-07 | David Eason | I subscribed temporarily for some election coverage. Was surprised at the operation of the app. When you search the app, the search results are miniature physical newspaper pages, in 2023, I kid you not. You still have to go the web site for most articles, even if you are signed in with a paid subscription. I rate this app 1 🌟 or 5💩, take your pick. Better to read the "paper" or the web browser version.
2023-10-30 | Gedd Rigler | My wife and I ( under her name) have both looked to the puzzle to print from either device as I arise early or am traveling. Lately, the format has changed and I am only intermittently allowed to access your site to the puzzles. I am constantly asked to resubscibe to edition. Not acceptable service.
2023-02-08 | Terry Middleton | No transition from article view to where you were in the e-edition. The "view pages" helps to recover, but it is very awkward. Still the slowest app I use.
2022-11-04 | Attila G. | As a native Charlottean, I've been reading the Observer on paper and on my phone for many years, love the articles! The app on the other hand is glitchy, namely when it takes you back to the first page of the E-edition after each time you click on and exit an article (even if its on the 15th page). This gets very annoying, hope they fix it soon! Otherwise a solid newspaper.
2022-06-02 | Robyn Ullah | I appreciate the opportunity to support and access the local news with the app. However, there are a lot of bugs that make this app frustrating to use. (1) There is not a search feature to locate specific articles, (2) The share link only provides the associated image not the entire article, (3) When I click on references to previous articles, it takes me back to the sign in page, & (4) When I attempt to sign in to read the articles, it doesn't allow me to select the correct Google account.
2022-02-15 | Elizabeth | I like the design of the recent upgrade with one exception. When I receive a push notification on my phone and I tap on the notice, it just opens the app to the home page and not the article. Please fix this! It is frustrating to click on the article and if it posted awile ago it is no longer on the home page and you can't search for it. All other news app do this, why not this one? |
