2 stars because being able to pick my book from my phone is convenient and it does play audiobooks.....the app will just close or crash randomly though and also lose my progress. I once listened to the same chapter 3 times because of the app crashing, not saving my progress, and I didn't know to constantly check and record where I am in the audiobook so when this happens I manually adjust my progress.
Most of the selection is very feminism biased or romance. I get the argument, but most are not arguing for equality but for revenge? I've gotten a lot of great books since joining, which I did to try to get some new novels and expand my library. New release curating isn't easy after all. Depending on what you read, I would recommend this club. But I've come to accept this club doesn't fit my demographic at all, and I'd like to get back into somewhere that curates like this app, but less bias.
Been a subscriber for years and listen to a ton of audiobooks, so I decided to take the plunge. The player doesn't save where I leave off which makes it extremely frustrating to use. Add this to a lack of bookmark option and I'm not sure I'll buy another audiobook, especially with Hoopla and Libby and Audible all working far better. The app itself has some functionality for ordering the monthly books, but the bookshelf feature of the books you ordered is hard to navigate and use.
