Voices sound like a poor man's sat nav, they could be a lot better and more fluid in speech. But handy to have when you have Laryngitis and a chest infection, which I have regularly.

When looking for an app that can read text to you from a picture, this is, in my opinion, the best one out there. It's FREE, no subscriptions that blindsides the use of it. There are several options you can use, and it's very simple and somewhat adjustable.

No way to turn it off from reading a web page. If it hits an advertisement,it reads the advertisement of them stops altogether. I can't turn it off and anything I touch simply makes it read again until it hits the ad again. The instructions at hey Google don't work. I cannot tell Google to turn it off. I cannot move the webpage by well I got to see continued / pause button for read aloud. Phooey.

This is a fairly solid text reader. I find that it works best when I copy all of the text into the reader and then press the play button. Reading a PDF doesn't work too well as those files may contain special characters that the reader doesn't handle correctly. You can advance to the next sentance and rewind to the previous with a couple of buttons, but cannot jump to any part of the text and read from there. So there isn't a good way to simply restart from the beginning.

App works well. Not many bells and whistles but does the job, no data collection and no sale of personal info. As someone else stated...there is a floating dialog box that blocks view if you are typing text. Annoying and slows me downm Tweak that and the app is 5 stars for it's intended use.

No SHARE from web to this app. If the text you want to read is too long for your clipboard to copy all of it.. forget it. It refuses to read Google web pages citing Error. Basically can only read copy-pasted text... Only as much as your Clipboard will allow you to highlight to copy. False to it's claims.

Liked the fact I could just copy and paste text from my textbook and the fact that there was no word limit when copying and pasting except for being able to save under 4,000 characters was not a huge fan of that but other than that great app would highly recommend especially for college students who translate their textbooks into reading.

Very useful in helping me read along with science literature. Preliminary editing of the text (ex. Google docs, mic. office) before uploading through this app is useful--abbreviations, figures, headers, footers, etc. make it hard to follow when inserted in the middle of the body of text. Good stuff for auditory learners.

Just started using this app, and although it is very good (in my opinion better than speechify), two things that could be better are a choice of voice (there's only one) and a "time" for the listening, and a "time left" indicator. This would come in very handy for study. Otherwise, a very good app.
