2024-10-29 | Joel Campbell | I have been using this app for several months now. Overall the app itself is not bad. The UI is ok even though they have moved some items around over time. The not great part is the paid "AI" feature. My understanding is that you must have it to get identification of the birds that the camera records. The "AI" (I use the term in quotation marks because the intelligence part is a joke) frequently identifies a bird as 3 or 4 or more species that are wildly incorrect.
2024-07-03 | Collin DeWalt | Camera works great, but the app misidentifies birds constantly, deleted moments instantly return (after already having spent a decent amount of time identifying them), and everyone using swipe for back/more menu options is killing every mobile experience because you have to swipe so delicately or else you're going to the last screen instead of accessing that extra options you needed. UX/UI design is dead.
2024-06-26 | David Ludwig | I actually really like the product and app, BUT the Android version will apparently not let me fully turn off alerts. Android app permissions screen only lets me put alerts on "Silent" so my phone does not chime or vibrate when an alert is triggered, but they still stack up on my phone and my laptop which is linked to my phone, every time something moves within the frame of the camera at all, which is a lot! Had to log out of my account on the app to stop the alerts. 5 stars if fixed.
2024-06-08 | Don Shultz | Unable to log in, no keyboard to type in wifi password. (Yes, 2.4g) So, I'm not able to use it. Uninstalled the app & installed as new with different email & password. Still unable to get past the wifi password since there is no keyboard on Birdfy site. I am unable to get any response from Birdfy. Therefore, if you can not set up, no purpose & 1 star rating here.
2024-05-14 | kristy h | The initial install, set up and firmware update were very glitchy and frustrating as the app kept crashing and wasnt cooperating. I wish there was a way to better controll the motion sensitivity or an option to record only certain things instead of every little wind motion. Other than that the app is easy to use and after all the updates it rarely crashes now.
2024-04-28 | Ty Rost | This app is slowly getting better. It still doesn't identify birds very well using what is supposedly AI. I also get a lot of video clips where there's nothing in the clip. I think it's picking up on just movement in the background. I often have to go in and delete 20 plus videos a day out of my 'story'. They have made a few improvements. In the past, I couldn't even delete any of the videos. Although they allow me to delete videos, I still have to go back and manually refresh the app.
2024-04-07 | yukiochan1 | $180, app is complete garbage and can't use it without it. First the keyboard turns off after every letter typed. Then refuses to even allow the app to connect to the router. Phone and feeding are sitting less than a foot away. Refuses to even recognize the name of our wifi, all other devices in the house are connected and working, app only says 'unknown' and then gives an error of not found. Updated phone, cleared cache, everything. App just doesn't go beyond main screen .
2024-04-04 | MJ H. | I have the birdy feeder and birdfy cam and they are both connected to the app. It is very easy to use and great to be able to check on both devices at the same time. There is a collections feature where you can save recorded videos and images and it groups and saves them by the type of bird. I especially enjoy the community feature where you can share your captured videos/images and view others birds from all over the world. Great app for any bird lover!
2024-03-30 | Renae Wolfram | I followed all the instructions and got the device to connect to the app for a few seconds, but after that, the video just showed a connection error message. I could still see the battery level and turn the light on and off, so it was still connected to wifi, but there was no video. I restarted the device, and once again got a few seconds of video. The device is about four feet from the wifi router and not working at that distance. I will return it.
2024-03-18 | Sam Calmes | While we love our Birdfy Bamboo, unfortunately there is significant delay with the notification system. The WiFi signal hovers between 60-70/100 and I'm able to connect to the live feed within seconds, but sometimes notifications take 20+ minutes to be pushed to my phone. I'm hoping this gets fixed in a future update. |
