App summary

The Gospel of Barnabas is a non-canonical “gospel” purportedly written by the Barnabas, a narrative account of the life of Jesus told, uniquely, from a Muslim perspective Evidenced by two known texts, scholars generally place its date of composition around the 14th century A.D., and view it as an original work incorporating earlier materials that are, interestingly, derived from sources other than the Latin Vulgate most commonly in use at the time.

The app offers the user the ability to randomly select an individual chapter for contemplation, as well as the ability to choose an individual chapter by Chapter Number/Name, along with the ability to search the text for sayings containing a particular word, and of course to scroll through the full text of the document.

The earliest reference to a Barnabas gospel, which is generally agreed to correspond with the one found in the two known manuscripts, is in Morisco manuscript BNM MS 9653 in Madrid, written about 1634 by Ibrahim al-Taybili in Tunisia. While describing how the Bible predicts Muhammad, he speaks of the "Gospel of Saint Barnabas where one can find the light". The first published account of the Gospel was in 1717, when a brief reference to the Spanish text is found in De religione Mohamedica.

Although the document entitled the Gospel of Barnabas contains much of the same information as the four New Testament Gospels, it differs greatly with regard to the identity of Jesus. A few of the significant differences are that the Gospel of Barnabas.

Too many things that are European centric. The son of Man was born in Africa. And was an African. There's NO need for the lies. Especially with that picture.
