It seems like a mixture between ACIV: Black Flag/Skull & Bones + World of Warships. Many aspects have been taken from Wargaming games like the ship tree paths, and some of the monetization practices like premium time. The game is overall fun to play, but there is definitely the opportunity for p2w and I don't think I've seen a real player yet, which severely limits the fun in my opinion.

Targeting can be maddening when trying to focus on one ship in a cluster of others. Needs to add more ranks above 25. Fun game to play easy to get the hang of. Update: Not sure what's happened but has become unplayable garbage. Doesn't register hits half the time even at point blank range. Ship will take damage when no one is around, etc. Waste of time.

Once upon a time there was a mobile game called "pirates fight". It was a great game. This game seems to be built on the same bones. It's almost an identical engine, but updates for modern devices and graphics. Pirates fight used bots to fill in the gaps for missing players to the point that you no longer faced humans. This game still seems to have human players, though it's difficult to tell. None the less, it's a great game that is fun to play. I would recommend.
