2024-11-19 | Peter Duke | App format is great, the listening is super critical, it hears words that are far from what I'm pronouncing and that gets very frustrating. My Ukrainian accent isn't perfect but it's interpretations are wild.
2024-11-12 | Leam Ryan | Fun and easy learning
2024-08-03 | Celeste | The hands-free lesson 1 had a discrepancy between what it verbally asked me to say and what it wrote and wanted me to verbalize. After repeating the phrase three times, I finally read what it had written (a three word phrase instead of one word) and then was able to move on. Very confusing! This has a lot of potential but some bugs in it. If this worked smoothly, it would be my favorite language app of the four I have recently downloaded.
2023-11-11 | Marie Bagland | I'm trialling Ukrainian... +: good to integrate vocabulary and optimise memory and pronunciation. Minuses : 0 grammar. I've learned a lot of grammar already, if I hadn't, I would be so lost, nothing is explained. Ukrainian grammar is KEY. Flaky translations even at low level. Changing from formal to informal without mention of what is what, no notion of feminine or masculine, I strongly suspect this app is an expensive repackaging of Google translate, which is very bad Ukrainian. Will NOT buy.
2023-09-04 | Claire Brine | The speech recognition is very poor although the hands free concept is a good one the app doesn't recognise when I speak at all 90% of the time. I've tried using 3 different sets of earbuds on 2 different devices and speaking directly into the phone and it still fails to recognise I have answered. This really needs looking at as it is hampering the effectiveness of the app considerably
2022-08-12 | Neil Mckavett | Not a bad app however, I'm currently in Turkey and learning Turkish. Some of the locals have said that some of the phrases are incorrect. One did say that some words are no longer used but could still be used to communicate but not properly. I hope mondly has this looked at by Turkish translators. If you are going to pay to learn a language, you want to be able to communicate properly.
2022-01-08 | Ana Aliyan | Throwing too much at a person very quickly and not even teach any basics how the language works. Leaving important tools to know about language's rules of the alphabet, grammar, different forms of words. Also complex words in the very first lessons, when should start out simple to get a feel how things are sounding. This whole app in my opinion is the deep end of the pool. If someone already knows some Ukrainian language they probably will do fine
2021-10-21 | Emily Hollingshead | Extremely helpful for learning the language! The repetition of phrases really assisted my knowledge when I visited Ukraine! Only downside is the gender usage as you can be marked down for the wrong endings even if you are female.
2021-01-28 | Saurabh Malve | Mondly gives an interesting and a fun way to learn a new language with interactive images, audio feedback in the form of a game. I'm so glad to have this app rather than learn through a course or a trainer. Molodets'! Dyakuyu!
2020-12-26 | Jasmine A. | I grew up in the Ukrainian Village in Chicago all of my young life, but haven't used the language since I moved away nearly 20 years ago. I wanted a refresher and unfortunately, this app does not teach the language I spoke with my Baba and Dido who came to America from Ukriane in the 1960s. I'm very disappointed because I really enjoyed the format. As my Baba would say, mixing Russian is a modern tendency, but it's a disgrace to our heritage. |
