2024-10-21 | David Marshall | Thanks for creating this very useful app which works exactly as expected and is provided ad free for free! For those who need a utility to quickly and accurately polar-align your portable tracking mount (e.g. iOptron Skyguider Pro), you need not look any further.
2023-04-28 | Michael Howard | Does not work. Cross hair on scope does not move. Tried to set hemisphere manually, also used static position but still no response. I'm located in Southern hemisphere (Sydney).
2022-12-29 | Javier M. | it positions the NCP opposite wrt other apps like SkyMap or Stellarium, because its flipped LR and UD . the constellations of Cassiopea and Big Dipper. are only for naked eye orientation, so ONLY the central part is flipped. Thank for the app !
2022-09-19 | Michael North | I use this app to help with polar aligning my equatorial mount. It's always provided great guidance. I couldn't be happier. Perfect tracking every time.
2022-06-29 | D W | The display on this app appears to be in error. Polaris is located approximately between Cassiopeia and the Big Dipper. The Celestial pole is also. And Polaris is shifted away from the Celestial pole by about .7 degrees. However Polaris is shifted towards Cassiopeia - not towards the Big Dipper - which is the way this app displays it.
2022-06-02 | Rich Stevenson | I see others commented about rotating the reticle. I see the setting for how precise this happens but I can't figure out how to rotate it? Update: Just figured it out. Good use 2 fingers and rotate. Perfect!
2022-05-04 | Alan Atkinson | As other users have commented, it's simple, no frills, does what you need with no problems. It offers a choice of two reticles for the position of Polaris, one for the Skywatcher Polar Scope, and a straightforward list of numerical data. Download and installation are quick. No ads, either.
2022-04-19 | Jac Vik | New to the field of astronomy. I'm in the Southern Hemisphere. I have a HEQ5 Pro mount. With the Polar Scope function in the app does that mean I don't need to use the polar scope in the mount if I simply want to do "rough" polar alignment (before then doing a more precise polar alignment using an ASIAIR Plus)? The two values that are shown (in hh:mm:ss) for the polar scope - what do they refer to?
2022-02-14 | Len Philpot | Clean, focused and useable. Does what it should, easily without fuss. Great little app. Being able to now rotate the reticle is great! Suggestion: Provide a readout of (or even better, a way to input) rotation values in RA / hh:mm:ss format, in addition to degrees. Minor display bug -- On my Android 12 Pixel 4A the app stays fullscreen regardless of the setting. No biggie, just noticed it. Update - Rotate-by-hour works great. Full screen is intermittent, but as noted, no biggie. Thanks!!
2022-01-29 | Tyler Paladino | Adding the ability to rotate the scope view and know the angle rotated is a game changer. Great app! |
