2024-08-25 | Major Kaboom | A must have for any Star Wars fan. You can make it easy and be a nice guy. Seems hard at first, but just involved. Being evil seems easy because you can skip some things in the typical bad guy ways. This in fact can make it more difficult. Try to burn the world, it fights back and the difficulty can get extreme. Choices matter. I love this game and the original. It works very well on my tablet. Never had any issues with anything beyond accidental conversation starts with my squad. Love it!
2024-08-02 | Donovan Cane | This is one of my all time favorite games. It changed the way I see gaming, it influenced the way I write my own material, and it opened my eyes to the beauty of storytelling. I say all that because for the last WEEK I have been trying and trying and trying and TRYING to download it. But it NEVER DOES. It gets all the way to 100% and it even gets to the installation phase. But it just... Stops abruptly and never actually finishes downloading. The first one download fine but this one just wont
2024-07-22 | Jason Dillinger | I own this game on an older phone (REVVEL 6 PRO Android ver. 13) and it looks and functions great, just like my Galaxy XCOVER 6 PRO (Android ver. 14). Only the Galaxy has a Snapdragon, but the game runs beautifully on both phones. The REVVEL has a Mali GPU, still worth the play. Neither phone is what you would call a mod range gaming phone, but the game works perfectly! Cloud save is great too, if I switch phones while one is being repaired or set to charge I can play. Great job on the game!!!
2023-04-11 | Michael Hargreaves | Over 22 hours of game time. Once you kill the squid dude and speak with Mira in the room. The game crashes about 5 to 10 seconds later. Cant seem to find a way to fix it. Using an Andriod Galaxy S20 also tries editing the files and re-installing the game, no luck. Looks like I just had to start a new game all over, haven't had an issue with this bug. Hopefully no one else has to deal with that. Great game over all, great port.
2021-11-30 | FlashFire603 | This is my third review of the game. I so desperately want to rate it higher but I can't. The controls are clunky and awkward to use. I got to the end game and the game keeps crashing sending me to my home screen when I try to board the ravager. After that happened I cannot even make a new game because it crashes immediately after the character creation screen. If they could fix these two issues then I'd give it 5 stars but as if now it's just a waste of money.
2021-11-17 | Austin Wharton | Great game, with tons of references to the first KOTOR. Tons of content, keeps you entertained forever. Unfortunately, it crashes a lot! I have had to reinstall the game 3 times, and haven't even gone though half a playthrough. I still think the purchase was worth it, but hope they fix it as it seems to be a common issue.
2021-09-13 | Collin Heller | Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. I know the original for the XBOX had it's own bugs, but we're nearly two decades removed from that, I assumed it would've gotten better. I can't leave from the military base in any of my games, I actually recreated several entire characters just to get stonewalled. I want a refund.
2021-07-22 | Richard O'Hara | The game has a bug. The big crashes the game in cut scenes. The only fix for the bug requires you to move some files around in the data files.... but android no longer allows any access to the data files. So it crashes and can't get past a cut scene. In the simpler scenes you can tap past it, but I am stuck on telos... unable to skip past the scene. And I can't disable the scenes because android 11+ if this can be resolved. I will gladly edit this up to 5 stars.
2021-05-15 | Anthony Shillingburg | Can't get past the main menu. (Un)installed on Pixel 3a. Tried again a month later, same result. Glad Google does these refunds... I can click buttons to allow permissions, and if I hit my phone's back button, I can choose "okay" or "cancel" when it asks me if I want to quit. BUT - I still can't hit any options on the main menu. Literally unplayable.
2021-04-15 | Kase Van Erkelens | An impressive port of a beautiful - if somewhat flawed - game. This is absolutely worth your money if you enjoy Star Wars and games in general. Reviewed on the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. ---------- The Game ---------- KOTOR II has been talked about in plenty of reviews since its release in 2004, so I won't spend too much time on that. KOTOR II picks up not long after the events of KOTOR I, making it perfect for a playthrough just after finishing that game (which also has an excellent Android port). PROS: KOTOR II has fully voice-acted dialogue, interesting quests and side activities, varied worlds, and plenty of skills and gear to cut your teeth on. Companions are interesting and mostly well-developed. KOTOR II can easily facilitate long playthroughs, and isn't too difficult to pick up and play. CONS: The quests and dialogue can be far too black and white at times, with the only options being "pure goody two shoes, wishy-washy in-between, and purely evil". The morale system unfortunately reinforces this and imposes game logic on many decisions, taking much of the fun and nuance out of them. This applies to companions as well, which fall victim to the discrete "good or bad" nature of the morale system, making many of them seem one-dimensional. Additionally, a number of the maps are sparse and the walking speed is slow. *** Thankfully, this can be countered by acquiring the "Burst of Speed" force power ASAP. Seriously, GET THIS POWER IN THE BEGINNING, it will help with travel times significantly. *** ---------- The Port ---------- Modding support is carried over from the PC version, which means you can use TSLRCM (the Restored Content Mod). Most mods only have instructions for the PC version, so installation can be a bit tricky, but nothing too precarious. This port served as my second time playing the game (the first time on the PC). It runs just about as smoothly as the PC version, with what often feels like 60fps. It isn't even too hard on the battery. However, it doesn't have many graphical options (like antialiasing, texture size, view distance, etc.) to choose from to customize this performance. Overall, the movement system and interface is well-implemented and unobtrusive, allowing for a streamlined mobile gaming experience. This can NOT be said for the *cursed* pod-racing, however, in which victory is nearly impossible using touch controls. It is doable, but feels akin to facing a boss in Dark Souls: countless trial and error, plus a healthy pinch of luck. ---------- TLDR ---------- Tl;dr : KOTOR II, while by no means perfect, is a masterpiece among gaming, especially for Star Wars fans, and deserves a playthrough. This mobile port is an excellent way to do just that. |
