2024-07-20 | Clement Towner | Amazing game, won't run on new phone. Perhaps it's just a tech issue on my end, however it ran on my prior phone (2021 OnePlus) without issue. Now it continually crashes in the boot up. I've reinstalled it several times. It's difficult to give it an accurate star rating, as on my old phone it ran perfectly, without issue, I spent many, many hours into it.
2023-09-19 | Derek G | Game crashes all the time. It's unplayable 90% of the time. The game crashes when it tries to connect to their servers. The developers are dog 💩. Also, when you are able to play the AI Focused is the only AI you can play against without the game being Extreamly difficult. If you play against another AI, the AI will ALWAYS builds roads to block EVERY city you try to complete. In the actual board game if someone did this, they would not have anyone to play with. It ruins the spirit of the game.
2023-05-21 | Mike | God this is buggy. I and another both have issues staying logged in, and both have ended up in bugged out loops preventing us from getting into the game that are only fixed by clearing local data. Sometimes you can't place a tile in certain (valid) spots until you restart. Starting up with friends is needlessly difficult. You can get through games. Sometimes it doesn't seem so bad. But this should be considered absolutely un-shippable software in its current state.
2022-12-14 | Stephen Ramberg | GLITCHY!!! Every few minutes the app crashes, kicks me out, and then when I go back it says an error has occurred and 5 of my tiles have been placed without meeple on them. I even got eliminated because of this glitch. It works great playing with my friend online, but otherwise this app was a waste of money. Guess I'll just have to play IRL.
2022-08-23 | Jeff | Great fun when it works, but can't recommend in its current state. Players routinely refuse to use the Dragon expansion because it freezes/crashes constantly. About 20% of ALL games seem to end prematurely due to bugs/errors that cannot be resolved. No one should pay for an app that simply isn't functional a large portion of the time you use it.
2021-05-12 | Bill Jett | When the app works it's a great game! Lately I haven't been able to login from my phone. It tells me it wouldn't connect and to check my internet connections. Every other app on my phone that connects to the internet works fine. I've restarted my phone and reinstalled the app. The same message, it will not connect. It works fine over wifi, just not over the cellular network. Please help!
2021-04-14 | Michael Mazur | I changed my review to one star because the developers clearly don't care about this game. I love carcassone but this app is very bad. The game works, until it doesn't. You're bound to hit a game breaking bug in almost every game. Some of the bugs are mind blowing. Sometimes nobody is allowed to take a turn. Sometimes different people win on different turns. Sometimes it lets me play pieces for other players(???). There is no sense to this and it's a shame because I love carcassone.
2020-11-29 | Kat Besio | Occasionally glitchy. Exs: A piece never shows up, an error occurs and won't let you back in, placing your tile boots you from game, your pieces stay in a completed city, etc. It's also unfair that time ticks while scoring. Especially in the bigger expansions where every piece is accounted for in a huge city. Overall really user friendly and fun.
2020-06-11 | Chad Brandon | Sadly, this new Android version of Carcassonne (a great game!) is just as awful as the last. Cheesy graphics, choppy animations, broken game chat (seriously?!), slow and unstable connectivity, and no ability to play turn-timed games or non-timed games with friends over the internet. After having played the truly excellent version made by The Coding Monkeys (iOS only for some silly reason) for years, this version is an utter disappointment and gives the impression that Asmodee just doesn't care.
2020-05-18 | Katherine Koteles | Love the traditional game. The app version is very true to the original. Great graphics. One problem I have a lot is connecting to the servers. I have weak signal strength at home so I am typically trying to connect via wifi but I constantly get an error saying I can't and should check my internet settings. My wifi works fine on all devices and this app seems to be the only one with any issues |
