2024-11-09 | Jeremy Rousse | Too many gotchas, sorry. I downloaded this app to create a simple macro to reenable Wifi each day, if Wifi is off. Come to find out, the app EXPIRES after 7 days and the only ways to extend it are: pay $8 for the upgrade, or watch an ad every 3 days, forever. Then I tried to configure my macro and it told me it can no longer control wifi without downloading a third-party plugin, and launched a web link for me to download that. Nope nope nope! No thanks, nevermind. UI looked good, though.
2024-10-31 | David Colvin | Fantastic app! Everything I use is built-in unlike Tasker, which is fragmented across plug-ins and microtransactions. I like MacroDroid so much I've left Tasker after 10+ years. The developer is extremely helpful, quick to reply, and polite. Premium is definitely worth it. I've bought two copies now and plan to make donations in the future. My most recent macro is turning on wireless debugging and launching and activating Shizuku. This is all done with MacroDroid without the need for a plug-in!
2024-10-03 | Ryan Gilkes | A wonderfully user-friendly interface, comprehensive feature set (supporting just about anything you might want to do), rich documentation and active community make this app an absolute standout. It is stable and efficient, using very little battery in the background. No major issues to report, automation has never been so easy...and fun! Update 10/3/23 Ran into an issue and the dev worked promptly to troubleshoot. Turns out it was caused by a recent Android update. Great support!
2024-09-20 | Aidan J Hickey | Great app. Has helped me a lot in my efforts to break bad habits. Definitely room for improvement as well. I would really like the ability to turn off the quick setting enable/disable button. It's the biggest weakness of the app bc any automation i set can be overridden in less than a minute, disabling the whole app.
2024-08-03 | Kurt Streyffeler | Even a novice can take advantage of the many tools available to make your Android more useful! My first macro was a simple notification for when I disconnect my Bose headphones from the bluetooth. I also had it send me a map location (which should have been standard with the Bose app). I copied it for my Jabra Bluetooth earpiece and my Bose earbuds. My second macro was a Ring notification with an automatic live view whenever someone was at the front door. Love this app.
2024-07-07 | A Google user | Adjusted my 5 star rating from 2018. I used to love this app, but it has become increasingly nonfunctional with android upgrades. It is still ok for some very basic stuff, but as of Android 13, it outright freezes the system on a regular basis, and I had to disable it or turn off most of the most useful macros. Too bad. It used to be one of my favorite apps for many years.
2024-06-28 | Zachary K | Fantastic app! Mainly limited by your own imagination. I was able to make a simple call blocker that works better than any other filter service I've used in the past (including paid options). Most things in this app are straight forward, and even those without coding skills will be able to build automation scripts.
2024-06-16 | Reed F. | I have maybe 2 hours free daily, which means automating/wizarding things (even the smallest action) can save valuable time. While initially a bit of a learning curve, the amount of documentation both official and user-submitted makes MD very helpful and time-efficient once you get a few macros created! It also helps when you need a more customized solution to other apps; I recently built a quick widget for OCD tracking that will help guide recovery. Thanks for the effort and energy put into MD!
2024-05-26 | Ray Blocher | Fantastic app, if you can think of repetitive process or annoyance that your phone gives you, you can typically find a way to use this app to help improve your experience. A simple example of an annoyances I've alleviated: I only ever use Auto-Rotate to look at pictures/videos/badly laid out webpages, and am always annoyed when it's back on later. I made it so when Auto-Rotate turns on, 15 minutes later it turns back off.
2024-03-29 | Chaz B (Chaybee) | Yooooo!!! Holy hell. Was trying to do the most simplistic automation on my Pixel 7 (earbuds connect to Bluetooth, turn on DND; earbuds disconnect from Bluetooth, turn DND off) and this made it possible! I'm not sure if I over complicated the macros by creating two separate and not sure if there a way to do it all as one (developer, let me know if so!) but it totally worked and I'm super grateful to have found this! |
