| 2024-11-24 |  | | Not too many issues. However, I don't like that I cannot do admin work from the app. I also don't like that the app constantly downloads notification sounds. I've done all the recommendations to stop the downloads, but it keeps doing it and it takes up too much space. |

But this updated rating is motivated at my frustrations over notification settings. There are settings to control mobile notifications, but they apparently don't do anything. My day off from working, and can't seem to get away from keyword notifications even though I have mobile notifications turned off |
| 2024-11-09 |  | | Ever since the latest update as of November 8, 2024, Slack has not been working. All I see when opening the app on my phone is a splash screen. Uninstalling hasn't helped. I literally can't do work. Awful! Update: Now I keep getting an error message that says app had to be closed because it has a bug. Try updating the app once developer provides a fix. Then the screen freezes until I manually close the window. Still awful! |
| 2024-11-08 |  | | App is unbelievably unusable now. The update you all rolled out across the platform has been rough. But this update to the Android app takes the cake for pure unusability. It loads the initial app just fine but click/tap on anything and you're not getting anything to populate. This is very unstable and unusable for my job. A galaxy S22 (not rooted) shouldn't have any problems using this application, this is after restarts, clearing the cache, reinstalls. This happens to others devices as well. |
| 2024-10-27 |  | | You must have a phone no older than 3 years old or they lock you out. I have over 300 popular apps on my phone and this is the ONLY one that doesn't work. My phone is still very nice. I'm not going to update it for one app. It's inexcusable for an app as integral to business workflows as Slack to kill support for past Android versions so quickly. |
| 2024-10-17 |  | | Team or group communication is quick and cleanly organized when you use slack. The extended feature set is nice, such as reminders, but mostly I use this for the basics. Search has gotten pretty good and notifications have been mostly reliable in recent years, though there are still occasional hiccups when you are both in the app and have a browser tab open, even if one is backgrounded. Best of all, the app is pretty low impact on battery life and system performance. |
| 2024-10-15 |  | | UPDATE: contacted Slack and they got it fixed within an hour. Awesome support. Thank you! Updated rating. Android phone no longer connects to Slack consistently. Works fine from desktop, but phone app will not show online status, notifications, etc without constantly reinstalling. After reinstall, works for a little while and then stops connecting again. |

Doesn't display notifications on new (or any) messages to users on mobile phone. Unimpressive contact list features, and clumsy group messaging apparatus. |
| 2024-09-28 |  | | WHAT I LIKE: The ability to have an overarching structure with subchannels and the ability for private channels The ability to do video and audio chat (although I have not tested) Ability to mute channels or entire organization during set times. The ability to quickly sort messages & channels by unread messages. WHAT I DON'T LIKE: CLUNKY ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROLS! especially for removing members from channels. I HAVE FOUND THE DIRECT MESSAGES SECTION IS NOT WELL ORGANIZED |
| 2024-09-24 |  | | Used it for years on my phone, but recently have been told it's not compatible with my device. I got notifications, and could open them up still and see chats progressing without me, but I could not close the pop up of "this app needs an update." Literally, it still worked, but would not let me even view messages, even though it was updating the conversations itself. Overall, very disappointed as I can no longer talk with my family in slack group conversations anymore. |
