The Red Tape to Citizenship

Imagine if all residents of Switzerland had to take the Swiss naturalisation test. Would you pass it? Prove your "Swissness" in various interactive game categories and face increasingly absurd tasks and questions.

In the fictional world of this game, everyone in Switzerland has to take the test in order to not only obtain but also to keep their Swiss passport. No matter if you've migrated to Switzerland or if you've always been Swiss, now it's time to test how well you actually know Switzerland, its history, geography and culture. Most of the test tasks are inspired by real questions from Swiss naturalisation tests but set in a new and humorous context. Some questions are completely fake, but can you guess which ones? Explore the Swiss naturalisation process from a new point of view and experience how absurd it can be to prove your level of integration in a country. Welcome to the Red Tape to Citizenship!

This project is a companion piece to the documentary film «The Miraculous Transformation of the Working Class into Foreigners» directed by Samir and produced by Dschoint Ventschr in collaboration with Blindflug Studios. The film is released in Swiss cinemas on the 5th of September 2024.
