| 2024-11-25 |  | | usually I really enjoy proton VPN and it works seamlessly in the background. recently, however I'm having difficulty connecting to servers, or randomly lose connection. I'm not sure if it started with the newest version (or when), but it really prevents me from using the service on my android device at all.-----EDIT: support never got back to me, but the issue seems to be fixed now 🤷 |

It gives basic protection and helps with accessing region locked content, you're just very limited with what countries you can get unless you're willing to pay for more features. |

For the discounted first month cost, it's hard to resist. But when FULL price after the first month, advanced features or a 12-mo discount are needed to justify it against a rented server w/ VPN slots. How about adding "server scheduling", "server prioritization", "update Split Tunnel list for new app install", and "control with scripts" for paid users? |

Update: proton VPN has been connected for 3 days straight and is running flawlessly. I'm streaming videos, downloading files and my speeds are FASTER than express VPN! This is such a great VPN, and I'm using the free version so you can imagine how great the plus and unlimited versioning are! |
| 2024-11-20 |  | | Proton's site says that buying a different proton service includes a handful of servers on protonVPN. Unfortunately, you don't get to actually choose the server. There's just a button to autoconnect and a choice between wireguard or openvpn. You can't even choose the country, it just shuffles between 2-3 options like a free spotify account, except you paid for this. The rest of the UI is filled with grayed-out options and ads, making me question why I'm paying proton at all. Really disappointed |

I am not looking to change my location to get around global locks on movies and TV so I have no clue if it can do that. What it does do is block my ISP and others from seeing what I am doing on my phone with the data I pay for. |
| 2024-11-13 |  | | Although the Ookla speed tester for my Galaxy S24 Plus phone showed slightly decreased download and upload speeds. my YouTube, Spotify and other video and music streaming services speeds improved, with less buffering issues. My Chrome browser page loading and link connection performance also improved. This was so evident that I immediately purchased a 1 year subscription for Proton Plus. Suggesting my T Mobile carrier may have been throttling my streaming services. Thank you Proton VPN |
| 2024-11-08 |  | | Love the stability and speed of this vpn. I've been using secure core for extra security on public networks. The only reason I give it a 4 star, is some lack of features that competitors offer that proton doesn't (yet)... for example i would absolutely love an auto connect feature that I can toggle on/off for specific networks. Once proton adds that feature, for me it would be a 5 star vpn. (FYI I'm on paid tier) |
| 2024-11-07 |  | | All I use is the VPN but I keep getting emails to sign into my proton account or get bounced. I don't have my original password. When I try to do a password reset I'm told that all my old information will be deleted. I honestly don't know what the service is trying to accomplish but it has been nice to use the VPN that I paid for.... For however long that lasts considering they keep trying to delete my account 🤷🏽 |
| 2024-11-05 |  | | Very easy UI and straightforward. I'm new to Proton and so far they seem like a good company. Wished they had a little more flexibility with their premium/plus offerings. I would like to purchase Proton Pass Plus separate from the unlimited package, however that is not possible if you have the VPN. overall still a great product and app. |
