2024-10-27 | Zach Bowman | Pretty damn perfect, even bought the "Remove Ads" to support. Ui is easy to maneuver, maybe the only gripe is being unable to hit links in a footnote. This app has some pretty incredible short stories, the community of writers know how to induce cosmic dread on even simple things while simultaneously linking it to another entry smoothly. Been in the hospital a lot, these articles help me cope, and help me wind down to sleep. Godspeed everyone.
2024-09-26 | Adam Walker (reGenR8ion) | Definitely fun to read SCP documents and tales on the go, but when favorites or read documents are marked, it's easy to lose track of them due to an inability to properly organize them in whatever order desired. If an organizing function is added at some point, that would make the app all the better.
2024-06-17 | Zoe Hart | It's a perfect reader app except for one thing. The banner ads are completely unaffected by the dark mode and are almost entirely white by default, leaving a very disruptive section of bright light on the screen that gives me headaches when I'm trying to read at night. Closing the ad doesn't help, as it leaves behind an "ad closed" banner that is still white. If it weren't for that, it'd be flawless!
2023-12-25 | Andy Woodruff | While the dark background with light text is appreciated, the app often fails to change the text color to a light one, rendering passages of text completely illegible without highlighting parts of the document. If they ever fix it, I'll pay for ad free. As it is, I have to open in browser on about half of all posts due to afformentioned text issue. That said navigation is much better than the website default, else I'd simply uninstall.
2023-09-04 | QueenBean | Wonderful and easy to use. Nicely organized too. Only issues are occasional text colors being too close to background colors (meaning you need to change the theme to easily view certain articles), not all images show up, and special formats on some canons will sometimes hide warnings at the beginning of articles. All things that can be worked around, but can be momentarily annoying in the few places they present themselves.
2023-03-08 | u12bdragon | Very well-designed, there are a multitude of features that make me very happy with this app such as you are able to sort each SCP series by rating, you can favorite scps, and when you click on a footnote it pulls up a pop-up instead of scrolling to the bottom of the page. Also I don't know if this is a feature inherent of Google or of this app, but when you select a word that you don't know and then click the Google button it doesn't just Google the word, it Googles "define [word]".
2022-03-30 | Erign McCollum | It's a simple app to read SCP articles and I think they made it just right. Being able to read them in dark mode and mark the ones I've read as well as a separate way to mark favorites is exactly right, and all the extra files and stories are there with working links, and working tags linked to see lists of similar. Simple, and perfect. Only thing I need beyond that is some way to have it play as audio while I'm working, if possible in the future.
2021-11-18 | John P | Some of the articles don't load correctly: Links, pictures, format screws, etc. However it is a nice to have a separate app to view SCP articles (at the least so I can set a timer on the specific app). It had all the articles and options like favorites or simple ways to arrange articles. I wish it was better, but I bet some of the format screws are hard to translate to the app.
2020-09-10 | Isaac Finkbeiner | I've always found the wiki to be clunky on my phone, and this is definetely a better way to read scps on the go. You can tell the developers truly care about making this a quality way to read (They even took the time to implement SCP-035's image change, something I originally disregarded in fear I would be disappointed). If I had any criticisms, the ad removal price is a bit high, but the ads are fairly unintrusive as banners at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise, all good.
2020-03-24 | A Google user | Excellent app! Quick loading and well formatted. It even grants access to the comments section on the main site. One gripe, on articles with various iterations and where text would normally be highlighted in some way, on the black and OLED-black themes, they words show up as dark blue and are really difficult to read. Perhaps yellow, or letting us choose that color would work better? Thanks! |
