2024-11-22 | Hansen Lyman | I've used Pocket Casts exclusively as my podcatcher ever since I first started listening to podcasts ~a decade ago. I listen to a lot of podcasts so I've tried several different podcatchers over the years just to see what they're like, but I've never switched because it's by far the best one out there
2024-11-18 | Andre Palm (iStackSilver) | This has been my go to podcast app ever since I can remember. It keeps getting better. The only thing that would make this app better is an auto volume leveling feature. The ads that play during a lot of podcasts are significantly louder than the actual podcasts themselves. It would be nice to have a way to have everything playing at or near the same volume, so I don't have to keep reaching over to turn down the ads, and then reaching over to turn the podcast back up.
2024-11-16 | A Google user | This app was great years ago when I first got it, was totally worth my money. Now its age is showing. Podcasts randomly cut off anywhere from 15 seconds to a couple of minutes before they are supposed to end. Some parts replay after they have already played, much like a needle skipping on the record. Thought it might be my phone, but I just upgraded and it's all the same. Might be time to upgrade to another player.
2024-11-12 | Nate Shivar | The absolute best podcast app. I regret that I ever left and went to Google Podcasts for a while, but I'm glad I'm back. It's fast, functional and has all the features I'm looking for. Plus, it maintains the openness of podcasts instead of always trying to lock you in to an "ecosystem" - Love it!
2024-11-09 | Feng Yu | I'll be nuanced here. The app works great, except it doesn't handle situations gracefully. One day I was listening to a 2hr podcast and every time I got into the car it started from the beginning. I used the skip controls on the car. No response. I pressed pause then play. It restarted. On the phone, I had to open the app on the phone while driving to try to work the controls. The issue? It thinks there is a corrupted header. If it can play and download, it can fast forward or rewind. Excuses!
2024-11-06 | Courtney Knapton | This app used to be great, I used it every day when I'm on my long commutes, while I'm working, cooking, taking a walk. Never had any issue. It does take a lot of space on my phone so every 6 months or so I'd have to uninstall & reinstall the app. No big deal. But in the past few weeks it's not refreshing, nothing will download, everything just goes into 'queued for download' and I'm needing uninstall and reinstall every other day. Even then it still doesn't work.
2024-11-01 | Steven Bush | Volume through a headset is too low to hear. Everything else is fine through the headset but this app. To respond to the developer. It is all podcasts. You support page had nothing on it. No I haven't tried other headphones but I tried other podcast apps and they work. The issue is with either the os, your app or something in the headphones just doesn't like your app.
2024-10-28 | Dan Noonan | The app works pretty well. There are times when it shows it's playing but no sound is coming out. It sometimes has to be force quit a couple of times. Lately there have been a lot more ads. Usually it's 0:30-1:00 but the last week or so there are multiple minutes of ads that you need to go through at the beginning and middle of episodes.
2024-10-18 | Jason Marshall | I've used the app for years and no problems but since May, the app doesn't refresh info from my patreon exclusive link. I've contacted pocketcasts in an email and they told me to buy their plus product. I have been just using the direct webpage instead of using this app. As a result, I've found myself just not listening to any of my podcasts... It's a shame. I will respond to the original ticket I sent some time ago... Still disappointed.
2024-10-12 | Alana interrobang | Pocket Casts is the best audio podcatcher I've ever used. Clean, easy UI, excellent cloud and progress sync functionality, a native Wear OS app, and they are adding a rating system. It has every listening and queue feature I could ask for, plus several I didn't! It's just about a perfect app. I was lucky enough to buy a lifetime subscription to the premium features before they changed the monetization strategy, but honestly it seems well worth the subscription cost to support these devs. |
