I decided to try the app after they took the criticism constructively and revamped the app. There are definitely some minor ease of use adjustments that could be made, but overall, this app is pretty darn good. Watching an ad to get a wallpaper is very reasonable. I just hope they add additional content frequently and vary it. It doesn't all need to be abstract, buildings, or mountains/trees. Outside of the few minor suggestions, I'm pretty happy.

Initial launch was a bit of a mess, but no overall complaints with the current state. However, the browsing experience could be better. Theres not really a way to view "recently added". It would be nice to see new wallpapers over time without having to scroll through all the potential ones I've already seen multiple times.

Excellent wallpapers just for watching a 30 second add. I feel like the improvements they've made to this app really stand out for what tech should be. Very high quality images (if that's what you're in to) for a price of your time or not that much money. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's great for people like me who want to see new things every one in awhile

Not bad for a wallpaper app, so far it's main strength imo is that it grants a wide variety which can be useful if you don't know what to look for (like me). My only gripe is that I cannot preview the wallpaper on my phone before downloading it which would be awesome. Tbf, you could just delete the wallpaper after getting it but the convenience is something I do look for in these kinds of apps.

I got the app after the initial backlash and fixes. I personally really like the app and the art that is on there. The new $2 monthly plan is definitely an improvement but I don't change my wallpaper that often so probably just watch and add to get the full res for free. Even having that option is great so you're not forced into a subscription.

It does what it says it does. If you are super into wallpapers and used to paying for them, this is cool. Watching a 30 second add to get full res for free is cool. I got what I wanted out of it and paid nothing, will go back again later when bored of current wallpaper. If paying for wallpapers seems weird to you, then this app might not be for you, and that's ok. Lots of ways to get wallpapers. Just move along.

Woah, what a clean, intuitive, and well made wallpaper app! Love how the artist is attributed right under the photo, near the download, and links to artist's socials. Watched a short ad for a full resolution download, now I've got it set as my background, haven't paid a cent. Apparently there were some hiccups that confused people at launch, but the outdated reviews should give it another try after they heard complaints and made changes!

Compared to other wallpaper apps, this is an amazing app. You can get free wallpapers on the app without watching a single ad, and if you want to get the 4K version of a wallpaper, you can watch a 30-second ad. The base subscription is for people who want the 4K version always and don't want ads, while the highest tier subscription is for people who want to unlock all the paid wallpapers (which you can get individually without a subscription) and not see any ads.

This review is AFTER the major changes in price, user permissions, etc. The app is great for finding amazing wallpapers by various artists. The UI is simple to use (maybe too simple, finding some features can be unintuitive), and being able to get full-res images just by watching an ad is acceptable to me. Also, the new price tiers ($2/month for the standard tier and $12/month or $49/year for the unlimited tier) makes Panel+ more accessible. Awesome that they listened to the users!

I waited until after the heat died down a bit to download (clearly people are still upset about the launch tho). The UI is intuitive. The full res download with ads I think is perfectly acceptable. Had no issues with the download or the ad and the wallpaper looks great. I understand they need to monitize, but the annual subscription is gonna kneecap their image for a while. MKBHD is right. Don't buy something based on the promise of the future. As the app stands it has a great FREE product.
