2024-10-29 | Starla Kerdsri | This app has broke my damn phone. It turns my notification sounds off all the time. I know it did this over 48 times I would turn it back on and in the next 7-18 min it would do it again & the as loud as it could say notifications are turned off and must be turned on manually. It's been messing with my phone and the notifications now for months. I didn't know what was going on. I missed so many important texts & calls. If I could I would sue over the broken phone I have bc of it. I HATE this app
2024-10-24 | Jose Penera | Just got the latest update and is now working like magic! Thanks so much. Congrats!
2024-08-20 | Sergio Nayar | I come from the Italian FNR app, which I have used for years and years, and it was working great until the developer got weird with the monetization scheme, now it forces you to watch ads like it or not. This WD Spoken Notifications seems to be a better option. A bit simpler but as long as it reads my written messages and spoken messages (whatsapp) I'm happy. So far, I still have not been able to make it play my whatsapp messages, but I see the option seems to be there. Kudos for the developers!
2024-07-08 | Andy D | Maybe I overlooked where this setting was, but is there a way to have Spoken Notifications pause podcast (or other) playback when it reads an SMS message or other notification? When I was trying it this morning, the podcast just kept playing and the notification was speaking and it was not possible to understand both :( Thank you!
2024-02-08 | AdAm | Mostly good app. But even though my whatsapp messages are configured to only be read out on my bluetooth headphones, a rather embarrassing message from my partner was read out loud on the bus this morning (even though my headphones were attached). Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks
2024-01-26 | Todd Kennelly | Yesterday it died completely, I hate Android. Even after installing the full version the developer sent me. Android just won't let this app stay running! no matter what settings I use. it's not optimized for the battery, it's allowed to run all the time. but Android just keeps killing it! every 15 or 20 minutes. so frustrating. What does Android have against spoken notifications? 🤷🏽 Finally! an app that will speak the notifications out loud.
2023-11-26 | Stanley Toenjes | First free app I've found that reads notifications for specific Wyze cameras. (Free Notification Reader probably works, but learning curve seemed steeper.) I emailed a few suggestions to the developer, mostly for more in-app help.
2023-09-26 | Stefan Monov | It allowed me to hear just the app name (when I get a notification from that app). Which is what I wanted. However, it doesn't respect my phone's Do Not Disturb schedule - apparently I need to manually configure this app's own DnD schedule. And I don't feel comfortable/safe doing that, since the app UI is very undescriptive and therefore I'm afraid it may (for example) block all sounds during its DnD schedule.
2022-10-31 | Drew Mitchell | It's about 80% of the way to be an excellent app. It is very usable in its current state. Its inability to pause any current audio is very annoying. I end up missing important parts of incoming messages. Also, why isn't Teams listed as an available app? It's a major messaging app and really needs to on the list of selectable apps. Otherwise, Brilliant effort!
2022-10-23 | P M H | Fabulous app. I'd been using Tasker to have notifications and texts read aloud but with Android 13, I couldn't get it to work right. This app is so easy to set up and I can hear all of my texts and notifications without having to open up my phone. |
