2024-12-17 | Jose Menjivar (Tito) | Great player, but it's missing some stuff. 1. It'll be great to have android audio integration. As of now, the connection doesn't read what's playing you can only control volume. 2. The now playing tile is hard to get, you have to press basically on top of the song's name for it to pop up. 3. I wonder what happened to the crossfade, as far as I remember they used to have it but it's not here. I'll keep on waiting for future updates! 😉
2024-08-22 | MiltoniusPrime | Zune fan, used them well into Spotify being a thing, major complaint was being limited to 120gb due to Windows CE. Have used ZPlayer for a few years, love it aside from a few suggestions (manually adjust playlists, shuffle playlist plays everything by one artist before moving to the next). Recently updated, dumped all my music off and gradually adding it back, and after a day of use it crashes and refuses to open. Fresh install does the same. New bug or too much music? Hope it gets fixed
2024-01-11 | Tom Meiller | Used this player for years. My biggest issues are two. 1) it puts up the wrong album art. I've unchecked the download album art and meta data, and have used MP3TAG to inbed album art to all my MP3 files, yet it shows Boston's greatest hits for their 1st album. This happens on several albums. 2) on some albums it changes the song order. Again I've checked all of my files metadata and they are correct, but certain albums the song order is changed.
2022-09-24 | Jimmie Lee | Glad I Found This App. The only complaints I have are there's no way to delete a song in the app & if I tap on an artist, it should only show that artist's albums. Instead, it takes me to everyone's albums. Also, there should be a way to add album art to a blank thumbnail. I'm a huge Zune & Windows Phone fan. If these issues were fixed, I would be in heaven. 👍
2022-06-21 | Rachel Vind | Another edit: It's almost back to what it used to be. Shuffle just is a piece of garbage. If you select a specific song to play and then press shuffle, it will just play the next song alphabetically unless you skip the next song. It's insanely annoying. Also, still mad that all of my playlist files (that I created in an earlier version) are still on my phone, but do not appear in the app.
2022-02-16 | Aidan S. | ZPlayer has the most interesting user interface on a music player that I have ever seen. The app works great, you can watch videos, listen to podcasts, radio, and local music files. My only complaint is that there is no option to sort artists by album artist and a few of the Zune animations are absent. Aside from that, ZPlayer is a very impressive music player that features an interface similar to Microsofts Zune and it looks great, even in 2022.
2022-02-07 | Mark Sullivan | Great! After I pointed out that podcast downloads disappeared. He said he would add a folder for downloads, and he did! Thank you! Now I can use this fine player for playing podcast downloads. One problem I noticed, was when I went to radio, the app crashed several times. Not sure why. Also, the podcast search bar, doesn't find things via an url address. It can do a general search, but pasting in an rss address doesn't seem to work.
2022-02-02 | Jeff Wiesneski | Still probably my favorite all around music player (I was always a fan of the Zune interface). But it would be nice if there was a way to backup/restore playlists, edit tags, a Folder view (instead of sorting by Artist), as well as maybe a few more options as far as the 'Now Playing Screen' layout.
2021-12-31 | Tom Erickson | Happily, This app is dramatically improved for functionality with Android 11 after an update! It does a very good job of replicating the navigation and organization of the old WP/Zune media player and I enjoy it a lot on that level. Recommend highly for people like me who loved that UX. It would be even better if there were more library management options- having the ability to sort a specific music directory for the app would be awesome and I'd also love a "Hide from library" option.
2021-12-05 | Elizabeth Stiles | I've wanted a Zune-like music app for a long time. However, at the moment it has issues that make the app next to useless for me. I almost always play from playlists with the music arranged in a very specific order, but there is no function to allow music in a playlist to be rearranged. So if I want to alternate between two artists in a playlist, I have to go back and forth between those artists and add one song at a time. Highly inefficient and time-consuming. Additionally, if you add a whole album to a playlist, the songs sometimes won't be added in the original order. It's not in alphabetical order either, so I have no idea what its criteria is for deciding what order to place the songs in. (In one particular case, the last two songs of an album were always placed first, and the rest of the album was in the correct order.) So again, you have to add songs one at a time. I couldn't play a playlist from the main playlist menu; it said all playlists were empty. I had to go into the playlist itself to play it. After using the playlists just fine for a few weeks, all were suddenly empty. Then after a little more time, the playlists themselves were gone. Apparently this issue has since been fixed, but given how long it took to make the playlists, because of being forced to add songs one at a time, I don't want to take the time to make them all over again. Last, even if I decide to forgo the playlist altogether and play from the artist menu, the albums don't play in the order displayed, and there's no ability to tell the app what order to play the albums in. This could be solved with playlists, if the playlists worked, but they don't. I'm really discouraged from using the app, which sucks seeing as I paid for it. (Not much, but still.) If and when the issues are solved, I will update this review. I still would love to have a Zune-style player, so I'm not giving up hope just yet. Also, just a suggestion, it would be much, much easier if the app simply supported Zune playlists, as I still use Zune on my desktop. |
