So far so good. I'd update the review but it's pretty good for learning correct pronunciations through videos of native speaking and also being able to compare our pronunciation with it. however not sure about how accurately AI judges but will see. Overall it's really good app to be used as standalone learning platform however it would be even more better if there were grammar structure explanations like how each verb has it's function in the sentence and so on. Well done umi developers!
5-star idea, but not ready. Words introduced don't match clips, like ペン meaning pen, but videos show PENdragon (surname from Howl's Moving Castle). Clips seem auto-made, not human-checked. Many cut off too soon/late; first/last words often lost. At €60/year, it's too pricey for current performance. At €20, I'd buy it to show support for the concept. Developers, please improve! 🙏 EDIT: Now crashes when I try to do reviews...
I really wanted this to be good since I've been stuck in the upper intermediate and lower advanced for forever. Unfortunately it seems the app doesn't always test the vocab in sentence reconstruction, some of the clips don't match the vocab at all (especially because one word was simply a person's name), or the clip says it so quietly you cant hear it. AI also regrettably checks your "speaking" so there's no way of knowing if you actually did it right (and I know I couldnt possibly get 100%).
